Terms

Terms and conditions

The terms that apply to work we carry out for you.

About these terms

These terms apply to stump grinding, vegetation management and related work carried out by Partner Stump Grinding ("we", "us"). By accepting a quote from us, you agree to these terms. You can contact us on 07766 649790 or at [email protected].

Quotes

Our quotes are based on the information and photos you give us. If the job turns out to be different from what was described, for example more or larger stumps, harder access or hidden obstructions, we will explain why and agree any change in price with you before we carry on.

Before we start

Please make sure that:

  • you own the land or have permission for the work to go ahead
  • you have checked whether any planning restrictions apply, such as a tree preservation order or conservation area
  • we have safe, clear access on the agreed day, including a gap of at least 73cm for our smallest grinder
  • you tell us about any underground pipes, cables, drains or other services you know of near the work
  • children and pets are kept away from the work area

Stump grindings

All stump grindings remain on site. Once grinding is complete, the material is raked back into the hole. We do not remove or dispose of debris. The ground may settle as the grindings break down, so you may want to add topsoil before laying turf or planting.

Underground services and hidden obstructions

Stump grinding works below ground level, and we cannot see what is underground. We take reasonable care at all times. If we find a hidden obstruction such as stone, metal or concrete, we may need to stop and agree with you how to proceed. We are not responsible for damage to underground services that you did not tell us about and that we could not reasonably have known about.

Weather and site conditions

We may need to rearrange the work if the weather or ground conditions make it unsafe, or if we cannot get access on the agreed day. If this happens, we will agree a new date with you.

Payment

The price, when payment is due and how to pay are set out in your quote.

Changing or cancelling

If you need to change or cancel a booking, please tell us as early as possible.

If you are a consumer and you agreed the work with us away from our premises, for example by phone, email, WhatsApp or at your home, you usually have 14 days from the day you accepted our quote to cancel without giving a reason. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you will need to pay for any work already carried out. Once the work is finished at your request, you can no longer cancel. To cancel, tell us by phone, email or WhatsApp.

Our responsibility to you

We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. If you are not happy with our work, tell us as soon as possible and we will work with you to put it right.

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

If you are a business, we are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption.

Commercial and contract work

For commercial and contract projects, your quote or contract may include extra or different terms. Where they differ from these terms, the quote or contract applies.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in your local courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
